The ambitious $50 million price tag would place it fifth on the preliminary list of top sales for 2023, but compared to the continued strong sales at the top of Bellevue Hill, it's a solid investment. Point Piper is struggling with sales.
On and off the water, Point Piper's vendors await buyers such as advertising man Jeffrey Cousins and surgeon Bill Roney.
The best known sale so far this year is that third-generation flower businessman Leo Lynch and his wife, Christina, are selling their federal mansion in Bellevue Hill, Lula, from their yacht Wilson Lee without a mortgage. It was purchased for $76 million.
The Lynches then sold a nearby surplus home to transportation industry boss Arthur Tzaneros, securing $61.5 million. He is still waiting for a buyer for his home in Vaucluse.
Rebecca Lacey and Simon Erlich's still-unsettled sale of Point Piper's Main Head for $68 million, said to be to the Champion family, falls in between these mountainside sales.
The next big sale was when Sydney FC owner Scott Barlow and his wife Alina secured $60 million when they sold Point Piper's home of Acuna to Vaucluse resident Hoang Tran Du. Ta. Barlows recently spent $40 million on Queens Avenue in Vaucluse.
