Following the bad Blue Saga of 2023, Bali's leaders want to help tourists view the Bali Tourism Civil Service Police in a positive light.
Some say it is starting to feel like authorities want to eliminate this public image, wanting to deport all tourists for even the slightest misdemeanor.

Bali's acting governor, San Made Mahendra Jaya, called on the newly established Bali Tourism Civil Service Department to provide better nurturing and protection services to domestic and international tourists.
The call comes after authorities were asked to take a zero-tolerance approach to illegal and culturally disrespectful behavior by foreigners in 2023.
This has no doubt caused mistrust between some tourists and the authorities.
In 2023, the Bali provincial government established a tourism task force dedicated to cracking down on tourists who violate regulations.
This led to the announcement that a Bali Tourism Civil Service Police Force, similar to the one in Yogyakarta, would be created.
Acting Governor Jaya told recruits at the Special Tourism PP Police Training to be held in Bali Province in 2024. ”
“We ask the tourism police to provide reassurance to tourists so that they do not feel unsafe while vacationing in Bali.”
“[I want you to] We assure tourists that visiting Bali is safe and comfortable, so do not hesitate to come to Bali. ”
He emphasized the importance of making tourists feel comfortable and welcome on the island.
Jaya further added, “The Bali Tourism Board PP is very important. We hope that with the formation of this unit, the negative labels associated with the Satpor PP will no longer be attached. [civil service] Because there will be no one to drive them out. I hope this paradigm changes.
“Because the Satpol PP is a power in the hands of the regional chiefs in not only enforcing local regulations but also maintaining peace and order.”
He pointed out that police officers will be allowed to wear smart casual attire, rather than police uniforms, to be more approachable to tourists at top attractions, on the streets and on beaches.

Acting Governor Jaya said: “Please prioritize a friendly smile and a sincere attitude. If you have any problems, please let us know immediately. “We will stop them.'' [problems] From upstream. ”
He concluded that the new Bali tourism civil servant police could win over the people with one shot.
He concluded, “If a problem occurs on site, it's over.'' This is in the hands of our fellow tourist police. For that reason, I would like you to check out this training carefully. ”

Nyoman Rai Dalmadi, head of the Bali Provincial Civil Service Department, is deeply involved in the creation of the new tourist police training program.
“For the next 10 days, 40 participants of Badung Regency Saputol PP and 31 members of Bali Saputol PP will undergo training and be selected as new members,” he told reporters.
Mr Dharmadi said: “We will first introduce all the material regarding the duties and functions of the Satpol PP. We will discuss how to protect ourselves if we come across anything related to disorderly conduct at tourist sites.”

“We train [control methods] There is no need to hurt or harass tourists. Our objective is to ensure safety, so we must be careful. ”
Currently, the Bali Tourism Civil Service Police Force is scheduled to be launched on February 14, the day of the upcoming general election.
The team will then be deployed to patrol and monitor Bali's major tourist attractions and destinations.
