KK Pathak dismisses DM over school closure

A Muzaffarpur lawyer has filed a motion in a Muzaffarpur court against Bihar Education Department Additional Secretary KK Pathak, Education Department Joint Secretary Kanhaiya Prasad Srivastava and Muzaffarpur district education officer Ajay Kumar Singh in the murder case for the death of a primary school student. He was charged with misdemeanor manslaughter. Due to the cold wave after the Ministry of Education ACS rejected the DM's decision to close schools.
Muzaffarpur Bar Association officer and advocate Sushil Kumar Singh said, “Mohammad Kurban, a high school student at Rago Majauli School in Bochaha district, did not attend classes despite the school being open during the cold wave. He died because he had to.”
