The Tasmanian couple had no intention of moving to the Glitter Strip until they got the keys to 24 The Peninsula in Paradise Point.
“We were on vacation and not actively looking for properties,” Rogers said.
“We drove by the property, called the sales office and spoke to an agent. We made an offer and it was accepted within 24 hours.”
Home is street appeal.
Mr. Rogers said he had plans to renovate the property and knew it could be turned into something special.
“The property basically hadn't had any work done since it was built, but the bones were there,” he said.
“Structurally, it was a great house and the layout was perfect, so the plan was to tear it down and renovate it inside.”
Completed within the past 12 months, the end result is a stunning four-bedroom home with multiple entertainment areas, pool and spa overlooking the waterfront.
High ceilings and floor to ceiling windows.
The pool overlooks the waterfront.
Standout features include marble floors, a marble and wrought iron staircase, and two Victorian Italian chandeliers in the formal lounge foyer.
“This is one of those properties that you can look at and see that it's still going to be trending and trending five years from now,” Rogers said.
“It's a timeless asset.”
For boat enthusiasts, there is a resurfaced 8 meter pontoon with 16 meters of water frontage.
“The house is on the edge of the bay,'' he said.
“It has a true northern aspect and water views, so it’s also protected.
“That’s the biggest advantage of this property.”
The house has been extensively renovated.
And Rogers, who is in the hospitality industry, said it's a true entertainer's dream.
“It would be a great home for a family and also accessible for an older couple,” he said.
“All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. It was great when we had guests from Tassie stay as there were multiple living areas and we didn't live on top of each other.”
You can see the water from the house.
The couple are enjoying life in the Sovereign Islands and have already purchased another property in the exclusive enclave.
“We absolutely love it here,” he said.
The property is on the market with Ivy Woo and Isaac Kim of Ivy Realty on the Gold Coast with an offer of more than $4.6 million.
