“Snowfall has spread positive news and increased bookings. Tourists are looking forward to snowfall in Kashmir and this recent development has sparked renewed interest,” said Manzoor of Kashmir Houseboat Owners Association – Chairman Ahmad Pakhtun said.
Meanwhile, Gulmarg is flooded with tourists and locals eager to witness the snowfall and participate in winter activities like ATK, snow sledding and skiing.
Looking ahead, tourism officials are hopeful that heavy snowfall in the valley could revive tourism in February and March.
Gohar Maqbool, a senior member of the Hotel Management Association, highlighted the impact of cancellations and postponements due to prolonged dry weather and stressed the importance of February and March for the revival of tourism.
“Even though we are losing time, it could turn around if we get heavy snowfall,” Maqbool said.
