Group increases expansion budget by 100 million euros and increases production capacity by 12 million tires per year
SHANGHAI, China – Sailun Group has increased its investment plans for its tire factory in Cambodia, doubling the size of the expansion announced less than four months ago.
Seirn announced in a stock exchange filing on January 30 that it will invest 2.2 billion yuan (290 million euros) in its Svay Rieng factory to increase its car tire production capacity by 12 million tires a year.
This announcement is a revision of the decision announced in October 2023 to invest RMB 1.4 billion to add production capacity of 6 million PCR tires at the facility. (ERJ report)
The new project is expected to take 16 months to complete, but the tire manufacturer has not provided details on when construction will begin.
Once completed, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 21 million PCR tires, plus 1.65 million all-steel radial tires for trucks and buses.
Seirn said the tires manufactured at the plant are primarily destined for North America and other overseas markets.
