IPOH (February 1): Streamlining the pre-primary education system will only involve educational institutions under government supervision, Deputy Education Minister Wong Kar-woo said on Thursday.
However, Mr Wong said the details on this issue would be finalized by the Preschool Coordination Committee in the near future.
“On the MOE (Ministry of Education) side, we are finalizing in detail all the academic procedures for preschool children.
“Based on the results, we will be announcing guidelines that will not involve private kindergartens and only government-registered kindergartens will have to follow,” said the “Perak Preschool Assistance 2024” check presentation at SMK Yukchoy here. he said afterward.
Earlier, Communications Minister Fahmi Fazil said that the cabinet had decided on January 24 to reorganize the national early childhood education system to ensure more comprehensive early childhood education.
Meanwhile, regarding the incident that occurred in Sabah on January 29, where a man was reportedly arrested for threatening a teacher after his son, an SPM test taker, was punished for allegedly smoking in the school toilet. He said the Department of Education would walk away. Both parties filed reports, which led to an investigation and further action against the police.
The arrest of the 49-year-old man was confirmed by Kota Kinabalu Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah.
