Since the coronavirus outbreak, the flow of tourists from Kuwait to Moscow has broken records. The Moscow City Tourism Committee proudly brought its business mission to Kuwait on February 5 to strengthen ties with both countries, reach out to travel agencies and capitalize on the growth of outbound tourism in the country and the Gulf region.
The main purpose of the business mission was to discuss the development of tourism potential between the two countries. The Moscow delegation was made up of representatives from 19 companies, including major travel companies and the hospitality industry. Participants met with more than 180 representatives from 119 local companies to explore potential collaboration opportunities. Approximately 2,200 negotiations were held within the framework of the business mission.
During the meeting, representatives from both sides discussed issues with the visa system in Moscow and payment methods. Participants of the business mission will also discuss the main directions of tourism that will be of interest to Kuwaiti tourists, the most favorable weather conditions for traveling to Moscow, and how to improve cooperation between Moscow and Kuwait in other areas. From March 2023, visitors from Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will be able to travel through hotel reservations without a tourist invitation. It is now possible to obtain a visa. So far, business tourism to Moscow is known to be popular among Kuwaitis. We recognize that not only the heights, but also the historical heritage of Moscow is carefully preserved. In early 2023, the Moscow City Tourism Committee organized business missions to the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, which resulted in thousands of negotiations with partners from Middle Eastern countries.
The Moscow City Tourism Committee actively cooperates with the Arab Countries (GCC) countries. In 2022 and 2023, 23 diplomatic visits were planned to the countries of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. In addition, approximately 700 negotiations with partners from Middle Eastern countries were successfully concluded within the framework of business missions in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
These events were aimed at developing tourism cooperation between the Moscow City Tourism Committee and the GCC countries and strengthening business relations in the tourism industry.
