“Around 2012, I started a business with my wife and it was running well, but things weren’t going well for my friend. He borrowed 86,000 Kenyan shillings from me and I was happy to help him. But after I helped him with the money, he changed.
I tried to contact him but he ignored my calls and messages. I tried my best to contact him but he wouldn't cooperate. I wrote him a message the day we met that things would not go well,” said Simiyu from Baringo.
Simiyu said she sent a message to the Criminal Investigation Department claiming that her friend had threatened her.

He also said Simiyu was in possession of a fake identity document for use in business, adding to the list of fraudulent activities.

“I was arrested at my home, taken to the police, and wrote a statement. Then I was taken to court and charged with threatening to kill my friend and the ID card incident. I will plead my case and my innocence. “But it was no use. I had no choice but to accept the accusation and forgive whatever happened,” he said.
A Baringo man says he lost a lot, including his family, after being sentenced to 20 years in prison, which changed his life, as he was not even visited by anyone in prison.
However, after his release, he was so happy and overjoyed that he started a business using the experience he had gained in prison.
Court releases 400-year prison sentence
In another story, a man who was wrongly sentenced to 400 years in prison cried when the court released him.
Sidney Holmes was convicted in April 1989 and sentenced to 400 years in prison, with no chance of getting out alive.
