Former Vihiga Queens captain and Harambee Starlets midfielder Marcilyn Wayodi has completed her move to Uganda Women's Football Super League champions Kampala Queens.
The midfielder was announced on Wednesday as the latest star to quit the FKF Women's Premier League giants, with the 29-year-old signing a two-year contract with the Ugandan side, with an option for a further year. Understood.
After Enes Mhango moved to Romanian side Farul Constanta, he captained the reigning KWPL champions in 2022 and contributed immensely to the team's midfield department.
But Wayodi, who was stripped of the club captaincy in late 2023 to replace Robai Kebedi, said the move was “very important” to take his talent to the next level.
She thanked Vihiga Queens for fine-tuning her talent.

Wayodi's journey with Vihiga Queens began in 2021 when he signed with Kisumu All Starlets and made an instant impact on and off the pitch for the Vihiga County-based team.
She has previously featured in Oserian Ladies, Wadadia, and Thika Queens.
His move to the Kampala Queens side, coached by former Simba Queens (Tanzania) tactician Charles Aieko Lukula, reunites him with former teammate winger Anita Namata, who moved to the Ugandan side in January 2024.
Wayodi is the fourth player to quit Vihiga recently, following Winnie Babirye who joined Uganda's Makerere Queens, Janet Bundi who moved to Tanzania's Yanga Princess, and Martha Obata who signed with India's Setu FC. Become.
