If your fairies are interested in eco-living, this nature-inspired log cabin is the place for them to call home.
The building, located on a 1844sq m plot at 42 Whitewood Drive in Upper Sturt, is thought to have been built in the 1980s around a 100-year-old tree, with the aim of creating a fairy-tale atmosphere both inside and out. Masu.
The three-bedroom log home is a blend of comfort and natural living, with a large covered pergola bathed in fairy lights that will make you feel like you're on the set of a Hollywood blockbuster.
Selling agent Phil Crowder of Bell Properties in Adelaide Hills said the home, which is on the market with an estimated price tag of $1.15 million to $1.18 million, offers buyers something unique.
“The house is truly a fairy tale. That's the feeling it gives you,” he said.
“There’s something very unique and very special about it.
“From what I hear, this property started with a father and son installing a deck around a tree…so the house was built around the natural aspect.
“This block is also very private. It's very quiet and even though there are people next door, you can't see or hear them.”

Crowder said demand for the property is being driven by urban buyers seeking tree changes.
“Interest in real estate is doing very well…and most of it is from buyers who are locals and looking to move from the city to the Hills,” he said.
“However, we do have one buyer who is considering using it as an Airbnb due to its setup and location, and we are also following up with interstate buyers.
“Upperstart properties are always popular because they are right on the highway and are very affordable compared to other areas.”
The property last sold in 2022 for $950,000, according to property records.
