After five years of early access (and eight years of development), the popular factory building game Satisfactory is finally set to reach 1.0 this year.
“There will be no further updates to the game in Early Access,” community manager Snutt Treptow explains in a new development video. “This year is the year we finally complete Satisfactory. [dabs] So while we don't have a date to reveal yet, we do know that 2024 will be that year. ”
There aren't many details about what the 1.0 update will look like, but it looks like it'll be a pretty big release: “It will mainly include new, unreleased content and some longer versions. – Fixes for persistent issues encountered in-game and how to complete the game, and the story.”
Satisfactory's development was previously split into various updates, but now the team has come together to focus fully on the 1.0 version. In other words, there will be “almost no patches” before release. However, you can be the first to experience new content thanks to the closed beta, which you can sign up for from the official website. Developers say slots in its beta version are limited.
The news was announced as part of a new “Roadmap” video, which included some of developer Coffee Stain Studios' trademark shenanigans. Before we get to the real news, there are big lies about constant updates, never-ending content, making the game “just like Fortnite,” etc. After such a long early access period, it's the perfect gag to set up the final road ahead of 1.0's release.
