A midcentury modern pad owned by the family behind Bevilles jewelry has sold for nearly $21 million.
A 1960s time-warp mansion in Toorak has gifted its owners, the family behind Bevils Jewelery, a whopping eight-figure sale ahead of Christmas.
The house at 11 Whernside Avenue sold for an undisclosed amount of just over $21 million before the expression of interest campaign ended in late November.
Deirdre and Keith Beville put the 1,620 square meter property on the market for the first time in 50 years in October for an eye-watering $23 million to $25 million.

The Bevil family is a second generation jeweler whose business was recently acquired by Michael Hill International for $45 million.
RT Edgar Toorak's agent Antoinette Nido, who brokered the deal, declined to comment on the sale price, but she noted that the luxury residence was purchased by a local family.
“We received a lot of interest from local families who were interested in the land, but not in renovating the house,” Nido said.
“The fact that we were able to sell during the Expression of Interest campaign is testament to the quality of the opportunity.”

A courtside gym was also part of the package.
The home is reportedly being targeted by a buyer who plans to move money from China and bulldoze it to build a new pad in its place.
However, after being purchased by a local, the original architecture seems to remain.
