Home Sweet Home is a valuable component of the new $25 million, quadruple-sized Lower Bucks Government Service Center soon to be built in Bristol Township, officials say.
“For too long, access to essential government agencies and services has been difficult, if not impossible, for too many Bucks County residents,” said Chief Operating Officer Margie McKevitt. Ta. “This administration believes it is our duty to ensure county government serves everyone who lives and works here, and we are taking this great step toward achieving that goal.” I’m proud to be stepping forward.”

Bucks County commissioners recently took that big step, breaking ground on a new center site that will “significantly improve the public's access to county government.” It is home to 13 county departments, as well as several courts and tribunals. The two-story facility will have a total area of 39,000 square feet.
The new facility will replace the aging 8,600-square-foot courthouse on New Falls Road in Bristol Township, providing needed additional workspace for existing offices and allowing a new courthouse to open centrally. It will look like this. Construction of the facility is expected to begin next year and be completed in two years.
County spokesman James O'Malley said the final project cost has not yet been completed, but is estimated at $25 million.
Departments with permanent offices in the new facility include: Election Management Commission; Children, Youth and Social Welfare Agency. Consumer Protection/Measures and Measures; District Attorney's Office; Domestic Relations. Health Department; Juvenile Probation; Protonotary; Registration of Wills; Sheriff's Office; Veterans Affairs, Workforce and Economic Development.
