Three workers were killed and one was seriously injured in an explosion at a pharmaceutical factory in Vadodara on Wednesday.
The explosion took place in the boiler unit of Oneiro Lifecare Private Limited in Ekalbara village in Padra taluka.
Police said the incident occurred around 2pm on Wednesday when five workers were asked to inspect a faulty boiler unit used to treat emissions from the factory.
A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that three employees, identified as Narendra Solanki (20), Ramesh Padiyal (31) and Thakor (36), died in the explosion.
Two other people were injured, one of whom, identified as Mayur Padyal, was said to have suffered severe burns.

Despite the arrival of police and forensic experts, local Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Chaitanyasinh Zara and Padra's Mamlatdar at the scene, the explosion caused locals to gather at the factory and caused panic in the village.
