HARIBO UK has recently received planning permission to build a new purpose-built warehouse on site in Castleford. This new facility will help us meet the increased demand for our products.
Now, HARIBO has appointed local company Caddick Construction to deliver this expansion.
The Castleford factory first started producing Haribo treats in 2015. The new warehouse facility will enable Haribo to manage increased volumes of finished goods, stock more raw materials and packaging, and protect his 600 jobs across both West Yorkshire sites.
John Hughes, Managing Director of HARIBO UK and Ireland, said:
“We are due to break ground and begin construction shortly and are delighted to have appointed local Yorkshire construction company Caddick Construction to assist with the construction. We continue to invest in our two sites in Pontefract and Castleford to bring delicious treats to consumers across the UK.
“The new warehouse means we can create more happy childlike moments and this investment shows our commitment to Yorkshire as a center of excellence for food manufacturing. .”
Paul Dodsworth, Managing Director of Caddick Construction Group, said:
“As a Yorkshire company, we are extremely proud to once again be leading the way in a development that will boost industry and jobs and make this great region home to some of the world's leading manufacturing. We look forward to launching and working with HARIBO UK to realize our expansion plans.”
