Reflecting on the social unrest in 2019, Chu emphasized that students can only have a peaceful learning environment when national security is fully protected.
Mr Chu said the riots had also affected school education, inciting some students to take part in illegal activities such as extreme street violence. This deeply saddened the education community and made the entire education community aware that threats to national security are not far away and that protecting national security must begin with school education.
