New Delhi: India and Israel have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on industrial research and development cooperation, marking a significant milestone in their science and technology partnership, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced on Thursday.
The agreement was signed between the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology and the Defense Research and Development Directorate (DDR&D) under the Israeli Ministry of Defense.
The partnership aims to enable joint industrial R&D projects in various high-tech fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum and semiconductors, synthetic biology, healthcare, aerospace, sustainable energy, and agriculture. .
The MoU will be implemented through specific projects agreed to by both parties and will be overseen by a joint steering committee headed by the heads of CSIR and DDR&D.
