The house is owned by Geoff Doyle, managing director of the Mendi Group.
Townsville's house price record could soon be blown away, with a grand three-berth marina mansion about to be listed for $9.85 million.
If this list price is achieved, it would shatter the previous record for a Castle Hill home of $6 million by a whopping $3.85 million.
Owned by Geoff Doyle, managing director of the Mendi Group, and his wife Natasha, the Sir Leslie Tees Drive home is set on three plots totaling 1243 square meters, each with its own marina berth.

It will be officially launched on the market tomorrow.

“What makes this property (8/48-55 Sir Leslie Thiess Drive) special is that it is unlikely that there will be another waterfront marina facility on three blocks like this,” Carter said.
“My understanding is that no more marinas will be built and most of what is there is just a single block.”
There are 3 marina berths
Sold fully furnished, the home features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and five covered car spaces.
There are not one but two kitchens, a large cold room with a four-barrel beer system, a theater room, two offices, indoor formal seating and dining for 20, two heated swimming pools, and gardens throughout. There is state-of-the-art lighting installed. CCTV system with lawn and 17 cameras.
There are also 15 meter wide glass stacking doors leading from the dining, kitchen and lounge areas to the outdoor lawn area.
Free-flowing indoor/outdoor spaces
A 36 square meter deck overlooking the marina is the perfect place to entertain, with multiple outdoor entertaining spaces.
It is also equipped with a Tesla Powerall solar battery system.
Ms Carter acknowledged $9.85 million was a big number for Townsville, but said Townsville was “really coming into its own”.
“When you bring something to market that hasn’t been on the market before, there’s always some unknowns, but there’s a lot of capital in this area,” she said.
“Airlie (Beach) is now quite expensive, but Townsville has so much to offer, as does Magnetic Island. And you can’t forget Yongala, one of the world’s best diving spots. Don't go.
“We also have the new five-star Aldo Hotel next door to The Ville Resort and Casino on Sir Leslie Teece Drive.
“This is a property cracker and given the mining, farming and other areas in the area, it could easily be someone with business ties to Townsville.
“I know one buyer from Europe who works in the mining industry in Airlie and owns property on the island. He doesn't come to the island very often, but he has ties to the area.”
