The Chief Secretary on Thursday asked officials to promote Gharana wetlands while considering the possibility of tourism in Jammu. He said tourism authorities should work with birdwatching associations across the country to improve amenities and facilities in and around Guarana Wetland.
Ranjit Sagar Dam has attracted the attention of the tourism department to promote it as a new tourist destination. Chief Secretary Atal Dulu requested the J&K Tourism Department to start multiple water sports and adventure activities at the dam. Similarly, Jammu's tourism authorities are trying to portray Mantalai as a spiritual hub of yoga.

The government has already decided to develop religious sites at Ambaran, Kameshwar Temple, Purmandal, Uttar Behni and Shiv Kohli for pilgrim tourists.
