Enjoy, off-roaders. Jeep has made equipping the new Wrangler for rock crawling a little easier thanks to its new Extreme 35 tire package. Includes 35-inch Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires and costs $4,495 for the two-door versions of the Wrangler Rubicon and Willys. In addition, the two-door Rubicon X with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine will now come standard with big rubber.
The Xtreme 35 package includes a set of LT315/70R17C BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. These are mounted on a set of 17-inch beadlock-compatible wheels with five pairs of spokes. The Jeep includes a 1.5-inch suspension lift and a 4.56:1 rear axle ratio, and the rear swing gate is reinforced to accommodate a larger spare.

The table below shows how larger tires affect your Wrangler's off-road capabilities.
Wrangler with Extreme 35 Tire Package | Wrangler Rubicon 2 door with standard LT285/70R17 tires | |
approach angle | 47.2 degrees | 44 degrees |
breakover angle | 32.4 degrees | 27.8 degrees |
departure angle | 40.4 degrees | 37 degrees |
Ground height | 12.6 inch | 10.8 inch |
water crossing depth | 34 inch | 30 inch |
There are advantages to using larger tires. The increased ride height provides more clearance to overcome larger obstacles and improves breakover angles. Additionally, the larger contact area improves grip on slippery roads.
Installing larger tires is a common modification for Wrangler owners. Given the popularity of the 35-inch rubber installation, we're surprised it took Jeep this long to offer it as a factory option. Jeep introduced the Extreme Recon Package for the four-door Wrangler in 2021. The company already offers a 35 for the Gladiator as well.
The 35-inch tire option is available to order now on the two-door Wrangler Rubicon with the turbocharged four-cylinder, with production expected to begin in March. This package is expected to go on sale for the two-door Wrangler Willys later in the first quarter.
