Soccer Kenya Federation Premier League side Kakamega Homeboys have completed their transfer business by signing former Gor Mahia left-back Shafik Batambudze.
The Ugandan initially played for Gor Mahia as well as Sofapaka, Tusker and Western Stima FC before returning to the Premier League.
“We are pleased to announce that we have completed the signing of Ugandan international Shafik Buthu Batambuze.
The experienced left-footed defender joins the club from Singida Fountain Gate FC in Tanzania. He completed the club's mid-season transfer business.
“Welcome, Buchu,” Homeboys announced.
Batambuze's arrival will strengthen the backline, as the experience he gained playing in various leagues during his extensive career should help strengthen the Buhungu-based club's defensive unit. Dew.
From a coaching standpoint, the Ugandan will fill the void left by Robinson Kamula, who parted company with Homeboys late last year.
Batambuze's contract has been confirmed after the 2023 FKF Cup winner revealed that he has signed Norbert Otjen. The youngster has signed from St Peter's Mumias Boys' High School, but details of the deal have not been made public.

Homeboys have also welcomed experienced defender Salim Odeka, who was signed from Tanzania's Geita Gold FC.
With the title race now in its final stages, the new players are expected to give the club new momentum. The Homeboys started slowly and picked up their form midway through the first round, but have been unable to keep up with the pace in the second round of the Premier League.
