Flying Blue Elite members enjoy up to 100% discounts on all seat types on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. As part of our transatlantic joint venture with Delta Air Lines, SkyMiles elite members receive similar discounts when traveling with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Discounts are not applicable when paying with miles.
Flying Blue Platinum, SkyMiles Diamond, and Platinum Medallion members receive 100% off all seating options. This means these members can choose Economy Comfort, Extra Legroom and Priority Seats for free. This is valid only for status members. When these members travel with other passengers on the same reservation, they can select a standard seat free of charge.
Flying Blue Gold and SkyMiles Gold members receive a 50% discount on Economy Comfort seats and extra legroom seats. Selecting Preferred Seats and Standard Seats is free of charge. Again, companions on the same reservation can only choose standard seats for free.
Flying Blue Silver members and SkyMiles Silver Medallion members receive 25% off Economy Comfort, extra legroom and priority seating. Standard seat selection is free for status members and companions on the same reservation.

Discounts for SkyTeam Elite Members
Elite members of other SkyTeam frequent flyer programs have more exclusive discount policies. There are no discounts for Economy Comfort, extra legroom seats, or priority seats. SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members and their companions can select standard seats free of charge.
Discounts for Flying Blue Ivory members
Flying Blue Explorer members (basic entry level, complimentary) receive a 10% discount on all paid seat types. So if you want to book an Economy Comfort seat, a seat with extra legroom, or a priority seat, it's worth signing up with Flying Blue. Even if you are a SkyTeam Elite (Plus) member, we recommend that you first purchase a paid seat as a FB Explorer and then change your frequent flyer number to the status program.
However, this discount does not apply to standard seat selection.

Reserve your seating options
You can select these seat types when making your reservation. If you later decide to purchase a specific seat option, you can do so online through Manage My Booking, KLM Reservations, your travel agent or KLM social media. If possible, you can also do this at check-in or at the airport. Sometimes there are last minute offers. Keep in mind that Economy Comfort prices increase the closer you get to your flight date. Unfortunately, fares for each route are not published. Therefore, you need to log in to see the current price of your flight.
