From historic mansions to waterfront wonders, the year's most viewed properties are usually filled with expensive dream homes.
But this year has had its twists and turns.
In Tasmania, half of this year's top 10 most popular properties on realestate.com.au were priced under $900,000, and in some cases well below that.
In 10th place was an interesting and unusual property in Interlaken, priced at $195,000.
The barracks site is 87ha in size and is shared by 13 owners.
Howell Property Group sales agent Nick Hay said the ideal buyer would be a recreational hunter or fisherman.
“Lake of the Woods is just 5 kilometers inland along a forest road, with Lake Sorrel and Lake Crescent nearby,” he said.
“If you're looking for a weekend spot for shooting or fishing and don't mind sharing it with others, this property is for you.”

Tassie's No. 1 property of the year, which racked up an astonishing 38,000 views online, was a vast waterside mansion at No. 19 Restdown Dr., Otago, which is home to a long-running accommodation business.
Harcourt Kingborough director Andrew Henry listed it for sale with “offers in excess of $3.5 million”. We are currently recruiting.
The next best listings with 30,000 and 34,000 views were also in the multi-million dollar market.
Set on over 11 hectares at 87 Colebrook Road, Richmond wowed buyers with an architecturally designed four-bedroom home with cathedral-like high ceilings and spectacular windows.
There is also an Olympic-sized 60m x 20m racetrack, made of sand and rubber surface and equipped with LED floodlights.

The third most viewed property was Headland Estate, a “magnificent seaside sanctuary” in Seymour.
The property was sold several months ago, pending settlement. It was on the market with an estimated price tag of $6 million to $6.6 million.
Cameron Kusher, director of economic research at Prop Track, said the mix of expensive and cheap properties in the most-viewed charts meant potential buyers in Tasmania were looking only for luxury properties. He said that this shows that there is no

“Some of these properties are extremely rare, including an old church, a hunter’s cabin and a seaside home in Southport.
“Price and location are generally the factors that drive views, but if your property is unique, that can help spread the word and spread the word.
