IRVINE, Calif. — A $1 million settlement has been reached for 589 janitors who worked for low wages at eight Cheesecake Factory restaurants in Orange and San Diego counties.
The settlement is the culmination of a years-long investigation that began in 2016 regarding alleged wage and hour violations at San Diego County Cheesecake Factory restaurants.
According to the Maintenance Cooperation Trust Fund, a statewide watchdog group that investigates allegations of employment law violations, the custodians were employed by companies that contracted or subcontracted to The Cheesecake Factory.
