Australian expatriates in the US have spent $1.85 million on an apartment they haven't even laid eyes on as the Brisbane CBD market continues to heat up.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at 6009/6 Parkland Boulevard, Brisbane, is currently being inspected by 75 couples and has received six offers.

Estate agent Alex Rutherford, of Place Estate Agents New Farm, said apartments had “sold like hotcakes” in the past few weeks.
“We're seeing a clear determination from buyers who want to act quickly, whether they've seen the property or not,” Ms Rutherford said.

“We did a walk-through video with a new buyer on Sunday, they made an offer on Monday and got the property on Thursday morning.
“We ran this campaign as a best offer, with offers ranging from $1.2 million to $1.85 million.”
Rutherford said she has never seen the market for apartments and townhouses move as quickly as it does now.

“I've been in this business for 23 years and the market for apartments and townhouses has never been as strong as it is right now,” she said.
“Lack of inventory is the biggest problem we are facing right now. It's a frenzy of people missing out on it. My under bidders missed out on several properties.
“Vendors are waiting for more value to be added to their assets because they are not ready to sell in the face of market growth.”
