A palatial home in Kew has “significantly surpassed” the suburb's house price record.
La Verna, at 39 Sackville Street, was sold before it hit the market a few days before Christmas, the last day of the year or real estate transaction day.
The sale price was not disclosed, but it is believed to have sold for more than $22 million, well above the $20.5 million threshold set for April 2022.

Kay & Burton agent Sam Wilkinson said the property was ready to be listed, but the family introduced to the home quickly engaged in interesting and leading negotiations, and that “the deal was no longer viable.'' “It was a success,” he said in a private statement.
“The sale of 39 Sackville Street reflects the strength of Boroondara's luxury market,” Mr Wilkinson said.
“This is a testament to the continued strength of the prestige market in 2023 and gives us confidence in the outlook for the market in the new year.”
