Buxton Brighton director Stephen Whiting declined to comment on the property's ownership, but one of the big draws is the expansive floor plan, with a variety of rooms where you can retreat for some quiet time. He said there are many available.
“It was renovated in 2016 to provide a variety of spaces for a large family, creating a contemporary rustic design while maintaining the integrity of the original home,” he said.
“The gardens, which were previously English gardens, contain a variety of coastal plants.”
In a brief to architect Ben Lempriere, who designed the renovation, Mr Whiting said the owners wanted the family home to have a “New York” and “Melbourne alley” feel.

He added that the high vaulted ceilings, period decorations, and revolving door that carefully separates the bedroom and living room are unique and charming details.
“The whole wall is on a pivot. You can rotate the wall like a door and turn one room into two rooms,” he said.
“We are very close to Brighton Grammar and Firbank schools, which are two very good private schools in Brighton.
“It will appeal to families who may not have considered Brighton, like Middle Park or Elwood, where homes like this do not exist (on blocks of this size).”
