Kelly Keller's passion project promotes community and fitness for everyone

SUPERIOR, Wisc. — The gym can be scary. Superior's Strength Factory is changing that narrative.
It all started seven years ago as a crowdfunding campaign. Now owned and operated by women, the gym offers kickboxing and weightlifting classes with an emphasis on cardio, endurance, and balance. Strength Factory owner Kelly Keller has spent years creating inclusive and safe training environments for her clients.
“Strength comes in all shapes and sizes, because it's real and it looks different to different people,” Keller said. “So we emphasize that everyone feels at home when they come here. You will also notice that there are no mirrors in this gym. They are not needed!”
Many of Keller's customers have been using Strength Factory for years, and he says it's not just the workouts but the community aspect that draws them in.
“Your shape, size, color, it doesn’t matter,” repeated Hope, a regular. “It's like a family here. It's so encouraging. It's pushing you to your limits, you didn't even know you were at your limits.”
The Strength Factory continued to grow and moved locations twice to accommodate. Keller said she is always excited to welcome new customers and has many plans in the works for the future.
