How does Afande Moses support orphans?
Ongori and her grandmother lost their home after their land was taken from them and had no means to continue their education.
Touched by his plight, Eric Omondi rallied Kenyans to raise about 1 million Kenyan shillings to pay expenses and build a house for Ongoro and his grandmother.

Afande Moses, a young contractor from Kisii County, was also asked to contribute to the project.
“While following the case, I realized that Eric had already contacted the boy.”
Mr. Afande, a former NYS recruit, contacted Mr. Eric and agreed to work together.
Eric acquired a piece of land in Kisii County worth over 550,000 Kenyan shillings and construction began.
“The budget was about 1.3 million lice for a two-bedroom house with a kitchen and toilet,” Afande said.
The Creative Jenga company's contractors provided free labor and purchased roofing materials.
“I am a brand ambassador for Maroo Paint and the CEO has agreed to donate paint for this project.”
Reflecting on the project, which is currently in the roofing stage, Afande said his humble background motivated him to give back.

“We are the sons of farmers and wanted to give back to those who were once in the position I was in. Poverty has always motivated me to work hard and give back.”
However, Mr Afande said he was not in a position to run a charity due to the demands of his job.
“But if you want to do charity work and need responsibility, I can help you.”
Afande also encouraged Kenyans in the diaspora involved in projects in Kenya to contact him.
How did Kisii's contractors source Mercedes-Benz?
Afande previously talked about his journey after NYS, including his time at KTN. An unpaid branding job at a television station came up and he took it, before a friend of his suggested he take up interior design work.
Afande excelled and gained many referrals, marking the beginning of his successful journey as an entrepreneur.
He shared the do's and don'ts of the industry, including buying luxury cars from Germany and hiring former colleagues from New York City.
