A new 90,000 square foot expansion of 3M's Valley, Nebraska facility will increase the plant's manufacturing capacity and add new jobs to the local community.
The $67 million investment includes new production lines, equipment and warehouses that will allow 3M to respond more quickly to customer demand for its personal safety products. The factory expansion is expected to create approximately 40 new jobs.
“3M has been part of the Valley and greater Omaha business community for 45 years,” said Matt Hussett, Plant Manager of the 3M Valley Plant. “We are proud of the role we play in Nebraska’s success and are pleased to work with state officials to make this expansion possible.”
“From respiratory and hearing protection to welding safety and medical products, 3M Valley is essential to manufacturing solutions that help protect people around the world,” said Chris Goralski, president of 3M Safety and Industrial. . “These products help make a difference to workers and their daily lives during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and across the industries we serve. The investments we are making in the Valley will help give us the capabilities we need to meet the growing demand for these solutions now and in the future. ”
To help make this expansion possible, 3M is partnering with Imagine Nebraska, a tax incentive-based program designed to encourage companies to invest in Nebraska by creating jobs and growing the state and economy. We partnered with the state of Nebraska through the Program.

3M has operated facilities in the Valley since 1979 and is celebrating its 45th anniversary in the area this year. During that time, 3M has supported organizations that help improve the lives of local people and encouraged 3M employees to serve their communities as volunteers. Her 3M employees in the Valley are active and invested in community initiatives, including serving on advisory boards for the Twin Rivers YMCA and other area nonprofit organizations.
