On Thursday, a family of four died in a road accident near Tenwek Bridge on the Bomet-Olengruone road.
Bomet Central Sub-county Police Commander Musa Oma, who confirmed the incident, said the four were driving in a saloon car when they were hit by a truck in the middle of a bridge and fell into the river.
According to the police chief, both vehicles were traveling generally in the direction of Siribwet when the accident occurred.
Omar said all occupants of the saloon car died on impact as it fell into the deep water.
Police and members of the public were able to recover the bodies of three people, one man and two women, who were transferred to the Longisa hospital mortuary.
The minor's body is still missing.
“It was an unfortunate accident. After the car fell into the water, it was moved about 50 meters away by heavy flooding before being stopped by trees along the river. After being pulled from the water, the car was impounded,” it added. Ta. Omar.
After the incident, the truck driver fled the scene and plans to submit a statement to the police. Meanwhile, the remains of the ill-fated car were towed to Bomet Police Station.
The collision between vehicles traveling back and forth on the Orenguruone-Bomet road lasted for more than three hours until police restored normalcy.
