New Delhi, May 18: Telecommunications Secretary Dr Neeraj Mittal said sustainable development driven by artificial intelligence (AI) will require technology deployment across economic and social sectors.
He stressed that sustainable development requires the deployment of technology across supply chains, the economy and social sectors, and said communications is an integral part of this.
The digital economy is expected to contribute more than 20% to India's GDP by 2026.
According to the government, the digital economy has progressed from 4% to 4.5% of total GDP in 2014 to more than 11% last year.
“I can't see it happening any other way, unless you have a very robust communications network system,” he said at a roundtable discussion organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) here. Ta.
Schemes such as Digital Communications Innovation Square (DCIS) and Telecoms Technology Development Fund (TTDF) have supported many entrepreneurs who are currently using technology to independently solve problems large and small in their areas. Ta.

Mittal said 100 5G use case labs established across the country are providing opportunities related to 5G technology by encouraging the development of 5G applications.
More than 30 industry leaders, original equipment manufacturers, and startups participated in a roundtable discussion on “Sustainable Digital Development with AI.”
