Nagpur: Madhya Pradesh is all set to launch cruise tourism on the Narmada river, which will cover 120 km, with two floating jetties. The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) has signed an MoU with the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and the Government of Gujarat. Based on this memorandum, his two floating piers (pontoons) from Kolkata were sent to his MP Kukshi. The pier is used as a terminal for pontoon cruises. The MP cruise tourism initiative is being undertaken by the MPTB to promote tourism in the state, and pontoons (floating platforms) will be installed on piers and beaches. It does not sink and can support the weight of several people at the same time. Through this medium, tourists can enjoy a safe and comfortable cruise. According to the proposed plan, the cruise will operate from Ekatma Dham (Statue of Unity) in Omkareshwar, MP to Statue of Unity in Kevadiya, Gujarat. As per the MoU, IWAI will provide two floating jetties, one each in MP and Gujarat. MP's share has already been handed over. There will be no hindrance to the movement of cruise ships on the Narmada river between MP and Gujarat, the agreement states. The agreement was signed by IWAI Chairman Vijay Kumar and MPTB Principal Secretary (Tourism) and Managing Director Sheo Shekhar. Shukla. The region will be economically developed and widespread benefits will reach the local community,” Shukla said. This cruise will not only give new wings to tourism but also allow tourists to experience the local culture, traditions, lifestyle and cuisine.
