of Doctor Who The franchise is currently being rebooted. Thanks to Disney's involvement, the movie will have a big new budget and actor Ncuti Gatwa will play the new Doctor. But nothing signals a new direction more than marketing. Returning showrunner Russell T. Davies wants to introduce the Whoniverse to a new audience, and that means starting from scratch again. The new season will not be Season 40 or Season 14 of the New Who era. It's just season 1.
The reasons for the rebranding are clear and understandable. Don't think you need to watch around 900 episodes of TV before embarking on a new adventure. The new season will definitely attract die-hard fans. Creating new generations will help keep the Whoniverse alive.
“Is anyone interested in season 67 or anything like that? It really starts all over again,” Davis recently said rolling stone. “The reason this has survived all these years is that sometimes, Doctor Who Stop, open the door, refresh, and welcome a new audience. ”
Russell T. Davies, of course. Doctor Who After the classical era ended in 1989, he collaborated with Christopher Eccleston in 2005. His revival of the series was a huge success, and he brought in some of the best Doctors of all time, from David Tennant to Matt Smith. Davies knows what it takes to revitalize a franchise, and by welcoming a new generation to the TARDIS, he hopes to inspire future storytellers. “There are kids who come to see this. They're the ones who will be making this 20, 30, 40 years from now.”
His debut as a doctor alongside Millie Gibson (Ruby Sunday) in Ncuti Gatwa's The Church on Ruby Road was a great start to his journey. The adventures continue on Disney+ on May 11th. Let's see what's in store.
