The proverbial “40-day sentence” has arrived for a gang of four traffic police officers who were arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials for collecting bribes on the main road near the Jesus Worship Center church in Embu.
As if acting on a tip-off, plainclothes EACC detectives set a trap.

How four traffic cops fell into the trap of EACC police officers
Officers were caught on secret camera taking turns accepting kickbacks. Each of them seemed to be experiencing a thrill.
They had just harvested the crop from a cargo truck, but soon anti-graft police officers showed up in Toyota Mark X and BMW X5.
The officers got out of the car without their traffic colleagues noticing. They tried to escape, but EACC detectives continued to catch them.
They were each grabbed, handcuffed and placed in a vehicle to be taken to Nairobi for pre-arraignment questioning.
The quartet consists of Fozia Harake, Adan Mohamed, Samy Cherogonyi and Maurice Mwakachola.
