Dubai: Emirates has signed agreements with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) and the Uganda Tourism Board (UTM), alongside the Arabian Travel Market (ATM).
Emirates has pledged its continued support to the island nation of Mauritius by renewing its partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.
Emirates and MTPA have a partnership dating back to 2012, working on joint initiatives aimed at boosting tourism to Mauritius. The airline has been operating there since 2002 and currently operates his A380 twice a day.
By 2023, the number of tourist arrivals to Mauritius will reach nearly 1.3 million, and Emirates will play an important role in transporting tourists to Mauritius.
Ahmed Khoury, Emirates' Senior Vice President, West Asia and Indian Ocean Commercial Operations, said: “The Emirates has continuously served Mauritius since 2002 and is committed to supporting the country's tourism goals through our partnership with Mauritius Tourism Promotion. We are proud to play a key role in achieving this.” With two daily A380 flights, we have the capacity to transport up to 1,000 tourists to the island per day and look forward to continuing to have a positive impact on the country's tourism economy. ”
MTPA Director Arvind Bundung said: “We are excited about the new partnership between Emirates and MTPA. Emirates' entry into Mauritius will open up the Emirati market and serve approximately 140 destinations in Russia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. As Dubai's hub to the world, Emirates also provides global connectivity to Dubai.
Emirates and UTM have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote inbound tourism and increase visitor numbers to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
