Vice President Ligasi Gachagua called on leaders to stop political sideshows, lower the political temperature and focus on serving the people.
He called on those focused on the 2027 election campaign to give elected leaders room to serve their terms and operate without interference or distraction.
He spoke in Kieni constituency in Nyeri County on Sunday, May 19, reappearing on Sunday after a week away from public life and missing major state events.
“After apprising the President of the situation, we thank him for his support in the fight against illegal beer and drugs. The fight against this menace will continue and we will not relent until the vice is eradicated,” Gachagua said. he said.

He also rebuked those discussing his political future and implored Mt Kenya leaders to consolidate and strengthen unity.
“Those who are elected should be allowed to do their jobs and carry out their respective duties. People should focus on their own jobs. Stop discussing other people's work and stay in office. “The people sitting in the seats should be allowed to work without interference,'' Gachagua said. he stated.
The vice president called for a premature halt to campaigning and told leaders to “respect the people who have been elected and give them a chance to work.”
He added: “People will have the opportunity to review their jobs and decide whether to renew or terminate their contracts. For now, we need to lower the political temperature and encourage incumbents to work. Let's admit it,” he added.
