Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday announced that the state government will form a special investigation team (SIT) to probe an “obscene video” allegedly related to Hassan's JD(S) Lok Sabha candidate Prajwal Revanna. . He also said the decision was taken after the chairperson of the Women's Commission wrote a letter to the government on the issue.
“The government has decided to form a special investigation team in the Prajwal Revanna obscene video case,” Siddaramaiah said in an X post. A video clip has been circulating in the Hassan district, where a woman appears to have been sexually assaulted. ”

According to media reports, Prajwal left the country on Saturday morning and traveled to Frankfurt.
Last week, MG Poornachandra Tejaswi, an election agent for the Janata Dal (secular) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accused Naveen Gowda of distributing an obscene video to tarnish the image of Prajwal Ravana. A person was accused and an FIR was filed.
“Naveen Gowda and others morphed the video and distributed it to Hassan Lok Sabha voters through pen drives, CDs and WhatsApp to create a bad impression on Prajwal Revanna. They asked people not to vote for him. FIR said.
Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former chief minister HD Debe Gowda, is contesting against Congress' Shreyas M. Patel, grandson of former minister G. Puttaswami Gowda, in Karnataka's Hassan.
Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar also demanded clarity from the BJP and JDS leaders on the issue as the former chief minister's grandson is involved in the issue. Shivakumar said, “Sexual assault allegations are not just for some random Hassan leader. The Prime Minister, Vijayendra, Shobakka, Ashok, Kumaranna and Ashwath Narayan have to answer to the people. The Women's Commission has written a letter to the CM and the Home Minister asking them to take action against those involved.”
Meanwhile, the JD(S) is yet to respond to the SIT probe constituted by the state government regarding Prajwal Revanna.
