Militnik Mwendwa Kitutu, a politician who contested the Kitui East parliamentary seat, has been arrested for the second time in seven years on suspicion of impersonation.
Kituto was arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials in the early hours of Saturday, April 20, 2024, and spent the past two nights at Kilimani Police Station in Dagoretti North Sub-County, Nairobi.
He is accused of impersonating an EACC official and issuing false integrity inspection certificates.
A statement from the commission said: “An armed and dangerous criminal who was impersonating an EACC detective and deceiving Kenyans by issuing fake integrity certificates for a fee to job seekers in the name of EACC executives has been arrested. '' announced.
He is currently being driven to the Integrity Center by EACC officers and will then be taken to Milimani Magistrate's Court at 8.30am.

EACC authorities therefore planned to arrest him while he was at his home in Kitui County, where he usually spends his weekends.
During the raid on Saturday morning, he was found in possession of a firearm and seven mobile phones.
The investigation is still ongoing and seven mobile phones have been sent for forensic examination.
This is not the first time Kitute has been arrested.
He was rearrested outside court in September 2017, just a month after the general election.
He was then re-arrested shortly after being granted bail in the forgery case. He was arrested while enjoying a meal with his friends and family along the Kitui-Nairobi highway.
He was arrested again in another case of attempted murder.
In 2017, he contested the same seat for the National Alliance Rainbow Coalition (NARC).
In the attempted murder case, he was arraigned before Chief Justice JM Mnguti for attempting to end Wanjohi Nganga Gichamba's life by pointing a gun at him at Kitui River petrol station.
This happened on August 28, 2024.
He denied the charges and was released on Sh50,000 cash bail.
