The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in Nakuru on Friday, February 9, arrested a fake lawyer for allegedly defrauding his clients of millions of shillings.
While confirming the incident, Nakuru Police Command Commander Mohammed Wako said the DCI police officer said: arrested a lawyer After the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) exposed him during its ongoing crackdown on quack practitioners.
The fake lawyer is being investigated for allegedly defrauding more than 100 million people of millions of shillings by claiming to be able to process land title deeds.
An LSK official who was part of the team that searched the lawyer's office confirmed that the charlatan had previously been arrested and charged in court for defrauding people.

“We were able to confirm further charges that this particular man obtained money under false pretenses by claiming he could process title deeds and carry out land transactions. “It shows that he has been charged in court before,” he said.
While collecting documentary evidence from the suspect's office, authorities discovered a title deed with an original seal from the land registry dating back to 2016.
“We have identified more than 100 title deeds that appear to be held in favor of our clients, some with fake seals,” said Linda, chair of the LSK Ethics and Standards Committee. Kaiome admitted.
Within months of LSK's crackdown, more than 30 fake lawyers from across the country were arrested.
In May of last year, the Law Society launched a campaign to crack down on people posing as defense attorneys in response to an increase in the number of cases in which fake lawyers appear in court in Kenya.
