The Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM) has blamed Chief Secretary of the Interior (PS) Raymond Omollo for the unrest witnessed in Kisii and Migori on Sunday.
A statement from the party's general secretary, Edwin Sifuna, identified PS Omollo as the main mastermind behind the use of police to intimidate ODM supporters.
Mr Sifuna further accused Mr Omollo of abusing police and state power and said the party was deeply at fault for his actions.

“The puppet mastermind behind these plots has been identified as none other than Raymond Omollo of the PS Internal Security. “We condemn in the strongest terms this blatant abuse of police and state power,” said Sifuna.
What happened to Kisii and Migori?
On Sunday, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) MP Sylvanus Osoro and ODM Anthony Kibagendi almost got into a fistfight during a fundraiser at the Makonde Pentecostal Assembly of God in Kinenya village, Borab constituency.
The incident was repeated three times in front of church leaders after Kitutu Chache South MP criticized the poor governance of Kenya's Kwanzaa government, forcing police to use tear gas.
ODM summons MPs for chaos
Prior to convening on Wednesday, May 8, the ODM party summoned members involved in the disturbances in Migori and Kisii counties for disrupting burial ceremonies and prayers, respectively.

In an interview, Sifuna condemned the actions, saying party members would be punished and calling for mandatory training for police to understand their duties.
Sifuna said the mandated police training was a refresher on the job after he accused police of agreeing to abuses by government officials.
