Karin B. Sullivan serves as Deputy Director of the U.S. Mission to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. She most recently served as Executive Director of the Office of Western Hemisphere Affairs, where she is responsible for overseeing the operations of 34 U.S. diplomatic missions from Canada to Argentina as well as her WHA domestic operations. Previously, she served as Director of the Office of Overseas Employment and Acting Assistant Secretary of the Office of Global Human Resources Management. She is the Deputy Counselor for Management of the US Mission in Iraq. Acting Director-General of the Western Hemisphere Bureau.
Since joining the Foreign Service in 1998, Ms. Sullivan has served overseas in Jamaica, Chile, Colombia, Barbados, Cuba, and Costa Rica, completing multiple administrative visits and serving as Charge d'Affaires and Chargé d'Affaires. She also served as Director of Trade Policy and Deputy Director for Economic Policy in the Western Hemisphere, where she oversaw the management of millions of dollars in programs related to free trade agreements and economic development, and served as a senior advisor in the Mexican Affairs Bureau. did. She has a degree in International Relations from Syracuse University's Maxwell School, and is married with two children, Shannon and Colin, and three dogs.
