Through the LEARNS Act, the Arkansas Department of Education's (ADE) Literacy Instruction Grant Program provides up to $500 in literacy instruction services to eligible families.
According to ADE, more than 20,000 students from kindergarten through high school senior year are eligible for the program. Students who are at risk for reading difficulties, do not score well on state assessments, or remain in third grade are eligible. The district is supposed to notify parents of eligibility by Feb. 26.
To ensure high-quality tutoring services, ADE reviewed applications from tutoring providers. A list of approved providers is available at https://dese.link/literacy-tutoring-vendors. Parents will be able to select a vendor from this list.
