Nominations for the Albanon Government's Stronger Medicare Award continue to come in.
There are just under two months left to submit nominations for the Stronger Medicare Awards, which recognize the contributions of people working in Australia's primary care sector.
Primary care is the first point of contact for Australians with health complaints, from general practice to allied health, mental health and more.
If you know someone who is delivering great care or embracing innovation, either alone or as part of a team, please nominate them as a Medicare Champion.
The Stronger Medicare Awards celebrate and recognize Medicare Champions. These everyday people, teams and practices are the backbone of primary care and are the people who are changing lives for the better every day.
Since Medicare was introduced in 1974, primary care workers have helped millions of people and saved thousands of lives across the country.
Medicare Champions go above and beyond to improve the health of our patients and people in our communities.
Submit your nomination here. Nominations close on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
The award will be announced at a ceremony in Canberra in November 2024.
Quoted by Minister Butler:
“Every day, there are Australians going above and beyond in primary care to make a positive difference in our health, lives, families and communities.
“Nominating them for the Stronger Medicare Award is a chance to recognize their efforts and show them how deeply they are valued.
“They may provide excellent patient care. They may provide innovative, interdisciplinary care. Or they may stand out for their work with diverse communities and vulnerable patients.”
“Australians know that doctors, nurses and many other health workers don't do it for the limelight, but this is something we want to express our gratitude to and champion for Medicare. This is our chance to recognize them.”
