Two non-governmental organizations (NGOs) won grants worth Rs 51 million in a virtual fundraising event held recently.
At Social Venture Partners (SVP) India Fast Pitch 2024, Vanavil Trust won the Gold Award and a grant of Rs 2.5 million, while Jayam Trust won the Audience Poll Award and a grant of Rs 10 million. This event is a virtual fundraising event inspired by Shark Tank. Empower NGOs, raise awareness of their work and raise unlimited funds.
Vanaviru Trust, which works for equality and dignity of nomadic communities in Tamil Nadu, also raised Rs 620,000 through live donations during the event. The trust will use the grant to design strategies and training modules for after-school programs across the state.
Meanwhile, Jayam Trust collected Rs 10.1 million through live donations during the event. The Trust provides special education services to children with intellectual disabilities through its learning centres. They aim to use this funding to establish vocational units with all adaptability and fool-proof equipment and workshops for vocational/industrial/agricultural skills training.
