Pope Francis appointed Father Munguti as co-judge Bishop Isiolo.
The announcement was made on Saturday, May 4, along with other appointments by the Vatican.
“The Pope has appointed Fr. Peter Munguti Makau, IMC, previously the local superior of the Consolata missionaries in Kenya and Uganda,” the pope's announcement reads in part.
IMC Messenger Peter Mnguti Makau was born on May 6, 1975 in Nairobi.
He began his religious formation as a Consolata missionary at Consolata Theological Seminary in Nairobi, where he implemented his hypotheses and completed his philosophical studies.
He completed his novitiate in Sagana, Kenya, and took his first vows on August 6, 1999.
He completed his theological studies at the Institut Saint-Eugène de Mazeno in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and took eternal vows on December 5, 2003.
He was ordained a priest in Machakos Diocese on November 20th.
After his ordination, he received a degree in canon law from the University of Monte Avila in Caracas, Venezuela.
He has held the following positions: Parish Priest of Carapita, Archdiocese of Caracas (2006-2014), and High Representative of Venezuela in two missions (2014-2019).
Since 2019, he has served as Provincial Director of Consolata Missionaries in Kenya and Uganda.
