A video released captured the tense moments before a truck carrying at least 10 passengers was engulfed by the raging waters of the Kwa Mswi River in Sultan Hamud's Kasikew district.
In a trending video, a truck was seen picking up passengers in the back while other residents waited on the other side of the river.
The truck driver hesitated for a moment, but decided to push through the swollen river, with one of his passengers holding on to the taillight for dear life.
Immediately, the force of the water swept the truck off the bridge and into the river.
The passengers continued to swim desperately as onlookers screamed.

However, the story took an unexpected turn. Just before the truck accelerated, a bystander warned, “Rest in peace.”
The man seemed to know that a flooded river could not survive a truck.
“Maji ni mingi pale hawawezi vuka. Hello, itabebwa ngoja uone. Rest in peace, hahaha,” the man shouted, his final warning to the passengers.
