PESHAWAR, April 27 (APP): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Peshawar Agricultural University and Pakistan-Beijing Engineering Research Center for Hybrid Wheat in China at a ceremony held here on Saturday.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Directorate of Agriculture, Peshawar Agricultural University, Pakistan, and Beijing Hybrid Wheat Technology Research Center, China, with Professor Jahan Bakht, Vice Chancellor of Peshawar Agricultural University, Pakistan, and Director, Peking University. Dr. Zhang Shengquan, professor at China Hybrid Wheat Engineering Research Center, signed the agreement.
The occasion was also attended by Dr. Muhammad Arif, Farm Director Professor, Peshawar Agricultural University, Pakistan. The purpose of this MoU is to foster mutual cooperation between the two institutions for future partnerships in academic and research agreements.
The Pakistan-China agreement includes the development of wheat hybrids that use less water, the provision of wheat seeds and testing facilities, the exchange of faculty, students, research materials and information, and the availability of related technology and research equipment. This includes support through gender and joint integration of innovative initiatives. For research projects.
This agreement covers the management of human resources in all relevant areas of mutual interest in hybrid wheat and related science, the dissemination of innovative and adaptive techniques and technologies, the provision of training facilities for staff, the development of new experimental equipment, support and provision of facilities in the development, distribution and supply of equipment for educational and research purposes; support for the development of institutional infrastructure; provision of facilities for graduate and post-graduate studies and post-doctoral research programmes; for short-term technical training programmes; Technical and other personnel of the institutional university. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jahan Bahat while explaining the ongoing curricular and co-curricular activities of the university said that students who graduate from Peshawar Agricultural University are successful in agriculture, animal husbandry and other important fields at national and international level. He said that The agreement is expected to put Pakistan's Peshawar Agricultural University and China's Beijing Engineering Hybrid Wheat Technology Research Center on the path of development.
